Three steps

How it works

  1. 1

    We check, not just list

F-gas certificates matched on the register, company history from Companies House, brand approvals on the manufacturer's finder.

  2. 2

    You compare what matters

Services, brands, warranty, coverage and the prices installers publish, side by side. Filter by what you need.

  3. 3

    You ask them directly

Press Get a quote and you go to the installer's own page. No lead fee, no middleman, no cut.

What is different

Why not just use a marketplace?

Most lead sites

  • Installers pay to appear or to be first
  • A location can mean "somewhere in the county"
  • Certification is "ask to see it"
  • Prices are a national average

Air Con Guide

  • Nobody pays to appear, rank or be recommended
  • Base location and the places each installer says it covers
  • F-gas matched on the register: Verified, Claimed or Not found
  • The prices each installer publishes, dated and sourced

FAQ

Quick answers

What is F-gas, and why does it matter?
F-gases are the refrigerants in most air conditioners. In the UK, businesses that install, service or repair equipment containing them must be certified, and so must their engineers. We show whether we matched an installer's certificate on a public register. How we check.
Is Air Con Guide free to use? How do you make money?
It is free for you. Installers do not pay to be listed or to rank higher, and we do not sell leads or take a cut when you ask for a quote. More about the site.
Which areas do you cover?
We are starting with Brighton & Hove (postcodes BN1, BN2, BN3, BN41). More areas follow once the first is complete.
How do I get a quote?
Open an installer and press Get a quote. You go to the installer's own quote or contact page, and we pass on nothing. Ask for a survey and a written quote, and compare at least two.
