DeLonghi Air Conditioning Systems

Portable Delonghi air conditioning systems can be divided into those that are cooled by air alone and those that are cooled by air and water. Both types incorporate the three main components – evaporator, condenser and compressor – and vent hot air to the exterior of a building via a flexible exhaust hose. The Delonghi PAC W130a, for example, is a water to air portable air conditioner which provides normal cooling capacity of 9,000Btu (”British thermal units”) per hour, on air alone, but is also capable of maximum capacity of 13,000Btu per hour on air and water in combination. This type of DeLonghi air conditioning system features a 14 litre (3 Imperial gallons) water tank and is suitable for cooling a room with a volume of up to 120m3 for up to 12 hours. It also employs chlorine free R410A refrigerant which is not only more energy efficient and kinder to the environment than older refrigerant chemicals, but also allows the system to run at a cooler temperature reducing the risk of burning out.

An alternative air to air system from the DeLonghi air conditioning range is the NF170 model which is just 810mm x 460mm x 320mm in size but, nevertheless, capable of a maximum cooling capacity of 8,000Btu per hour and suitable for rooms up to 80m3. The DeLonghi NF170 is also capable of removing up to 21 litres of excess moisture per day, in normal condensing mode, but also features a dehumidification only mode which can remove up to 24 litres. This DeLonghi air conditioning system features multiple fan speeds as well as a microprocessor controlled thermostat and timer.
